Dear Avon Community:
Events of the last week serve to remind us that we are still dealing with a pandemic. It is important that all involved continue to honor the guidance in place. LCDOH continues to caution that the vast majority of cases continue to result from social interactions. Where we go, who we are with, how well we adhere to recommended protocols- LCDOH reminds us that adherence to recommendations makes a difference in the spread of COVID. Please stay vigilant. We would like to emphasize the importance of staying home when symptoms are experienced. In addition to being recommended to curb transmission, staying home also protects others from avoidable quarantines.

Other Information-
Each year a number of emergency closure days are built into the instructional calendar. We have faced many challenges this year; however, so far we have not had to engage in an Emergency Closure due to weather. When this happens, Avon has made adjustments to the instructional calendar because we are safely within the required number of school days. Therefore, students will be released from instruction on Friday, May 28th. This will make Memorial Day Weekend a four day weekend for students and staff.
Additional updates regarding the schedule for the end of school will be shared in a separate communication.
Thank you.
