Give it up for Avon’s own Alana S., who will represent the River Hawks later this month as a member of the New York State School Music Association’s Area All-State Symphonic Band!

Alana, a sophomore in our high school, was selected for this prestigious ensemble based on her scores on tuba at last year’s solo-festival auditions. 

Alana was selected for NYSSMA’s Zone 2, which covers eight counties in the Finger Lakes region of New York. 

She’ll travel to Churchville-Chili High School this Friday, Nov. 21 to rehearse with her fellow band members before their performance the following day, Saturday, Nov. 22.
