Hawks fly at Attica Invitational

Posted Date: 04/12/25 (05:46 PM)

Our varsity girls track and field team made history today, competing under the feathers of our new River Hawk mascot at the Alexander Invitational in Attica.

The girls faced some incredible competition with schools in Section V’s Class A, B, and C competing on the day.

Our girls placed 17 out of 19 schools. Scoring points for the girls were Mollie G. in the long jump, Maria G. in both the 800-meter and the 1,500-meter runs and the 4x400-meter relay team of Payton R., Megan K., Kaelyn M. and Maria G.

“The results in the team standings have zero reflection on this team, the competition here was superb,” said Josh Williams, first-year head coach. “These girls are incredible. We’ve got a balanced roster and can strike in the LCAA Division II from multiple angles. It’s going to be an exciting season.”

Next up for the River Hawks is their lone home meet of the season and senior night on April 24, when they host Livonia and Keshequa.

“Senior night is going to be special. We have an incredible group of seniors in Kayla C., Hannah C., Leticia G., Lena K., Megann L. and Page P.,” said Williams. “They and our juniors are shaping an incredible culture here. You combine that with the youth movement on the roster and it’s already developing into something special.”
