REMINDER: Avon Central School will host a Special Olympics event next month!

While Special Olympics New York decided to move the regional qualifier event that’s previously called our campus home to the Buffalo area this year, we felt it was important to host a local event for our kindergarten-age 22 students in the Genesee Valley BOCES region.

Our special olympics event is set for Thursday, May 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature track and field events for preK-grade 2, middle and upper level athletes.

So far, 10 teams from across Livingston County have signed up to compete and we’re hoping to add even more in the coming weeks!

We are currently seeking donations to help fund our Special Olympics event AND volunteers to assist with operations on the day.

To sign up as a volunteer, follow the instructions at the ‘Volunteer Registration’ link at the link below. The deadline to register is May 9.
