Our fourth grade students welcomed Avon Village Mayor Rob Hayes to Avon Elementary School yesterday for a presentation about local government!
Fourth graders recently completed their unit on government in social studies, said teacher Anne Hettenbaugh, so Hayes stopped by to speak with students about what responsibilities come with his role as mayor.
“The kids asked great questions about what the job entails,” said Hettenbaugh. “Rob also shared what he likes most about being mayor while our students gave him a bit of insight into what they like best about living in the Avon community - it was a great visit!”
Many thanks to Mayor Hayes for coming to speak with our students and to teacher Renee Kashorek for setting up the visit!
