Mr. Tim Baumer’s 6th graders got the win over Mr. Darren Leonard’s class this week in the pair’s annual Mock Trial.
It was a hard fought civil case but in the end, Baumer’s students - the defense - overcame Leonard’s students - the plaintiffs - and convinced a jury that the victims in the case were not entitled to any damages.
Both sides argued their cases well and Mrs. Welch’s students did a fantastic job serving as members of the jury, asking clarifying questions, reviewing exhibits and deliberating for a good length of time to arrive at a verdict.
Many thanks to Livingston County Judge Kevin Van Allen, who presided over the trial in our Middle School Library.
