Dear Avon,

Due to the heat, most staff have been released from non-required activities this afternoon.  

• This is not a forced emergency closure.  Instead, it is an invitation for common sense.  
• For example, items to take place inside in air conditioned spaces are fine.  Currently, that means basketball, show rehearsal, and the BOE meeting are on as scheduled.  As are pre-scheduled student meetings and any scheduled testing.
• Outdoor activities are cancelled this afternoon and evening.
• Due to construction, several office spaces are without air conditioning.   Therefore, offices will close around 1:15 today.
