A cool, sunny morning proved to be a great recipe for success for our varsity cross country squads at the John Izzo Cross Country Classic Saturday morning at Letchworth State Park.

Girls team captain Maria G. led the way for the Hawks in the Division II race, taking 5th place with a time of 19:56. She was followed by Quinn K. in 76th place (24:54) and Quinn F. in 138th place (36:31).

On the boys side, the Hawks were led by Wyatt K., who took 16th with a time of 17:06. Luigi M. placed 60th with a time of 18:40, Owen H. took 73rd with a time of 19:06, Mitchell B. took 149th with a time of 21:56 and Hunter P. took 171st with a time of 23:06. Overall, the boys team team finished a very respectable 15th place out of 25 teams.  

Our running River Hawks are next in action at their senior night meeting tomorrow - Tuesday, Sept. 23 - at home in Avon.
