Our varsity cross country squads traveled to a rainy and slippery Genesee Valley Park yesterday afternoon to take on tough competition from Geneseo, Attica and Mount Morris.

In the boys’ race, Luigi M. led the River Hawks with a strong, third place finish in 18:37. Wyatt K. followed in 7th with Owen H. taking 12th, Mitchell B. 17th and Hunter P. 19th to round out Avon’s scoring five.

On the girls’ side, Maria G. dominated the race, finishing first in 21:20, more than two minutes ahead of the next competitor. Savannah S. placed 17th while Quinn F. finished close behind in 18th.

Despite challenging conditions, both teams turned in solid performances and continue to show great progress this season.
