Your Avon River Hawks traveled to Alexander Friday afternoon to compete in the Alexander Invitational against 15 schools from Livingston, Genesee and Monroe counties.

The hilly, 3.1-mile course proved to be a challenge, but the River Hawk harriers came away with some excellent results.

On the boys’ side, Wyatt K. led the way with a strong 4th-place finish and a time of 17:55, followed by Owen H. in 19th (19:44), Mitchell B. in 36th (21:07), Hunter P. in 54th (22:24), Ben K. in 86th (29:46), and Juan L. in 88th (34:34).

On the girls’ side, Maria G. had an outstanding race, leading from start to finish to claim the 1st-place ribbon with a time of 20:38. Quinn K. also turned in a solid performance with a 15th-place finish in 23:44.

Next up for the River Hawks is a league meet at Warsaw Village Park this Tuesday, Oct. 21. Good luck, River Hawks!
