Your Avon River Hawks got the straight sets win over Bishop Kearney/Chesterton/Archangel last night in the Section V Class C1 semifinals. 

With the 25-14, 25-15, 25-8 win, the Hawks punched their ticket to a Friday night finals showdown against #1 seed and defending sectional champion Le Roy in Cal-Mum. 

Senior outside hitter Jessie C. led the Hawks with 12 kills. Senior Anna W. was close behind with 10 kills to go along with her team-leading 14 digs. 

Senior setter Mollie G. had 4 aces and dished out a whopping 27 assists while senior middle Emma V. had 5 blocks on the night.

Avon will be looking to flip the script on Le Roy come Friday’s C1 final. The Oatkan Knights are 21-1 on the season, topped the Hawks in last year’s C1 final and are 2-0 against Avon this year, winning in four sets in September in Avon and straight sets at home in October.
