Join us in congratulating Avon’s own Alana S. and Lucy M., both of whom performed at the New York State School Music Association’s Area All-State festival this weekend!

Alana, a sophomore who plays tuba, was selected for symphonic band in NYSSMA’s Zone 2, which covers eight counties in the Finger Lakes region of New York while Lucy, a junior, was selected for treble choir. Both performed Saturday at Churchville-Chili High School. 

Alana and Lucy qualified for these prestigious ensembles based on their scores at last year’s solo-festival auditions.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Lucy also auditioned for and was selected as a featured soloist in the treble choir’s performance of “Ava Maria.”
