Avon alum Sarina McDowell is in the midst of another stellar season with Nazareth University's varsity women’s basketball team! 

A starting forward for the Golden Flyers, who compete in the NCAA Division III Empire 8 Athletic Conference, McDowell grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 16 points - the most on her team - during Nazareth's 65-55 win over SUNY Brockport last weekend. 

McDowell, a junior nursing major at Nazareth, is averaging 5.7 rebounds and 10.7 points per game through 13 games this season. 

Sarina graduated from Avon in 2023 and remains our varsity girls basketball program’s career leader in scoring (1,433), rebounds (1,025) and blocks (176). 

The Golden Flyers are 9-4 on the season and are next in action tonight at home against Elmira College.
