Health students lend artistry to 'Empty Bowls Project'

Posted Date: 02/03/26 (10:42 AM)

Mr. Chris Cole’s high school health students rolled up their sleeves - and wetted their paint brushes - last week on behalf of The Empty Bowl Project, an annual fundraising dinner in support of Community Action for Wyoming County.

Cole’s students headed to Color Me Mine in Brighton last Tuesday to create the bowls that will be sold off at the upcoming dinner, proceeds from which will help fund the non-profit’s varied philanthropic efforts across Wyoming County.

“My health students worked with Victoria Tiebor, CAWC’s executive director, to bring personal care products for the homeless last year, so I was already familiar with the great work the non-profit does,” said Cole. “Victoria reached out about their empty bowl fundraiser this year and it seemed like a perfect fit for my students. I’m proud of the work they’ve put into this and know it’s going to help make a positive impact here in the local community.”

Many thanks to Color Me Mine for hosting our students last week!
