One of the highlights for our students this morning was the demonstrations by local members of law enforcement and their K9 partners.

Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and police officers with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation spoke with our students about what a typical day looks like for them, what kind of calls they go on and the highly specialized training they and their K9 partners undergo.

After, officers and deputies conducted a few K9 takedown demonstrations.

Suffice to say our students were impressed - these dogs don’t mess around!

A special shout out to Deputy Jason Page of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, who donned a full-body bite suit and took MORE than his fair share of takedowns this morning so that all of our fourth graders could see the K9s in action.
