Junior named to 'Area All-State' ensemble

Let’s make some noise for Avon’s own Alana S., who’s been officially accepted into the New York State School Music Association’s Area All-State Symphonic Band as 2nd chair tuba! 

A junior here at Avon High School, Alana will be performing alongside the best student musicians that NYSSMA’s eight-county Zone 2 has to offer. 

Alana was selected for this prestigious ensemble on the strength of her performance at NYSSMA’s solofest audition last spring. 

For her solo, Alana performed "Three Romances for Susie,” a level 6 solo - the highest level possible - and earned an A+ rating. 

The ensemble’s concert is set for Saturday, Nov. 21 at Canandaigua Academy.
